I've looked at www.vfxweb.com and see cheap mobo's for like $26 bux with a cpu.
What would ppl suggest is a decent small form factor way to go which would be able to run a virtual machine and in it run say OSX lion? I'd likely want to get some other OS's running as well... Multi head is necessary. One of the CLUG people asked about setting up a server with six (6) KB's and six (6) mice not including the dead one in my garage and six (6) heads. I believe we can do this! Use USB mice and kb's and a couple PCI cards like was in the shuttle-X I brought to the meeting. Should be easy. Next one of our guys said we can output to a monitor via USB and I'd like to know how to do that! I'm not sure this makes sense because a thin client should do this as well. But who knows. I think the way it should work now is plug the KB, Mouse etc into a flat panel and plug the network in and plug the server into the network. Of course the network should be fiber. Fiber runs so fast that why do we need AGP? We should be showing this at install fests. If anyone is interested one of my buddies just put in a 128 core machine. But they like winders. Uggh. _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list clug-talk@clug.ca http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
