Continuing this thread, I had some ideas to contribute with, re-themeing it to us being xianxia cultivators or something like that. Xianxia also fits the name of us being 'dragons'. Please forgive if the capitalization is all over the place lol.
I think the Blast mechanic can be interesting for people to have a way to influence other people's hands by shooting their own cards into them. Blasts are the most harmful if someone has as many cards as their hand limit, or close to it, so it's a bit of a blue shell mechanic in that aspect. Cultivation cards are intended to cater to long-term grind playstyles, but they have the drawback that they occupy slots in your hand, which makes you vulnerable to Blasts, along with the rest of effects of just having less hand space to work with. Base Card Types: - Wood - the specified dragon will endorse you on the specified proposal, election, or agoran decision, and SHALL NOT change eir vote. - Water - Take a card from another dragon. - Metal - the specified dragon will reach for the specified stone. - Stone - the specified dragon will wield a specified stone in a specified way. - Fire - the specified dragon will expunge 1 blot from you. Card Combos: {Same as the original} Blast Mechanic: A dragon can "blast" one of the Base Card Types onto another dragon by spending two of the same Base Card. This causes one of that card to be added to the target dragon's card inventory. If this would cause that dragon to attempt to have more than their hand limit in cards, then a randomly selected card they own is destroyed immediately before (ie. it is "pushed" out of their hand of cards). Cultivation: A dragon can Cultivate by spending 1 of each kind of Base Card, creating a Cultivation card of their choice in their inventory. Cultivation cards give passive bonuses as long as they're owned. These are the kinds of Cultivation card: - Tortoise: You cannot be the target of Swaps. - Rat: This is always the first card to be pushed out, regardless of the random roll for it. - Bull: You have 1 additional voting strength. - Wood / Water / Metal / Stone / Fire Spirit: These are 5 finds of Cultivation cards. If you have one of them, you only need to pay 2 of the same Base Card Type instead of 1 to produce its associated Card Combo. - North / South / East / West Secret: These are 4 kinds of Cultivation cards. If you have all 4, you can spend them to win the game. You cannot Cultivate while holding one of these cards.
