I updated to IOS 17.1 on my SE 2 the other day and am trying to work my
way through the changes from 16.x to 17.1 to solve problems I'm having
with the update. I had Hey Siri on and wanted it and not Siri, but am
having a problem with Alan's instructions.What do I do after "Listen for
and select Hey Siri instead of Siri?" There's no Siri by itself. Right
now, when I do not press the hone button, and invoke Siri by voice, Siri
responds with Hey Siri as well as Siri. I think it may have something
to do with the new follow-up feature I think I heard about.
The phone wants me to finish setting up Apple Pay, which I don't want.
I may have an expired credit card that deleting it and putting in the
new info might make the phone happy, but I'm having a problem with
double tapping since the update and I was hoping to solve the double
tapping thing first. Do I have to solve these before I can fix Hey Siri
vs. Siri?

have the TV, radio, or an Audio book going and Ciri has never noticed. Alexa

If Apple has removed the Hhey in Hey Ciri, I will never update to any version
of IOS 17.
Just my opinion but it seems to me like Apple has come out with one of the
worst versions of IOS in V17 since the conception of the I Phone.

It’s also possible that since they got rid of the hay in hey Siri, if your
friend has that enabled, Siri could be listening and hear anything and quit,
because it thinks you’re doing something. Try disabling hands-free Siri and
just use the side button and see if that helps. I never have used hey Siri
except on my HomePod. I have no problem pressing the side button.

I find nothing in Siri settings to disable this.
Though, he might try turning on showing a transcript of what Siri says, then
maybe VO can read the whole response, but that is a poor work around at best
even if it works.

He uses Siri to get his sports scores. He says that, as she is reading back the
information, any little noise will stop her from reading. It is like Siri has
an open mic all the time. This behavior just started recently. He thought that
an update fixed it, and it worked well for about a day, but then went back to
this problematic behavior. Any insights on how to solve this problem would be
