Hi Margaret, If you've just updated to iOS17... restarting the phone helped both my wife's and my and my phone after updating with the double tap functionality.

The effect of this would require you to double tap faster in order for it to register. Go to Settings, Accessibility, VoiceOver, and double tap time-out witch will be near the bottom of the screen. Mine was currently set to .25 seconds and I executed the increment button to make it .3 seconds which I like better since I don't have to double tap quite as fast. Play around with that setting to see if it helps you. Good luck.
