OK... Used the backup microSD we ordered. Reprogrammed it with the same .direct file... Same error as below...
"Unable to read file uImage-zynq-e31x-3.dtb" Now, either I am loading a incorrect image, or something is not working correctly with the unit. Please tell me your thoughts... Thanks... I have the E310 E version... The instructions I think may not be correct... Here they are cut and paste... Please validate.... For the E310, the product number will be 156333X-01L, where X is a letter from A to Z. For devices where X is A, B, C, D, the images under the "ettus-e3xx-sg1" folder should be used. For devices where X is E or later, the images under the "ettus-e3xx-sg3" folder should be used. (WHAT I USED) You must use the appropriate image for your specific device. The incorrect image will not work, and will only boot as far as the U-Boot boot loader before stopping. BUT this is what is written also... For the E312, the product number will be 140605X-01L, where X is a letter from A to Z. The images under the "ettus-e3xx-sg3" folder should be used for all E312 devices. So you told me to go to release 4 (also the directions did)... and then I chose the sg3 directory - Is this correct??? Thus, both the E310 E and E312 devices use the sg3 directory???? I used the Ettus-3xx-sg3 directory and downloaded those versions. I am assuming they are the correct versions. Thanks... From: Matheou, Konstantin J. Thanks... Actually, most of the steps I was doing correctly from all the various portions of documents. But it is good you placed all in one document. Thanks... Everything worked well up until I burned the image. When I did the terminal command - sudo screen /dev/ttyUSB0 115200 - and then turned on the E310, I received "Unable to read file uImage-zynq-e31x-3.dtb" I tried both tx version - demo and dev... Both did the same thing... I have another SD card that we ordered with the unit. I will try to re-image that card and see hwat happens... Of course, I will let you know. One of the screen captures needed to be updated. Regards, Nate Temple Previous message ------------------------------- Hi Konstantin, I had an error in my previous email. The default setting for the release-4 image is to have a DHCP address. You'll need to edit /etc/network/interfaces and update it to operate with a static IP. Please see the attached PDF that will walk through the process of burning the release-4 SD Card image to a blank SD Card, and then the required steps to configure the Ubuntu VM within the Windows host to connect via the Serial interface to update the /etc/network/interfaces file, and then connect via SSH. Also, with 1GbE connections, you do not need to use a cross over cable. 1GbE has auto-MDIX which will allow a normal straight through ethernet cable to be used when directly connecting devices.
