I am not sure, but it may have to do with the new deployment scheme which has a more involved Qt library "plugin" scheme.
http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-5.1/qtdoc/deployment-windows.html Maybe some more libraries have to be copied to the program folder or some subfolders (even into "plugins", which we already use for Stellarium plugins). If only the error message were more helpful... Any ideas, progress, success so far? (Platform: Win7/pro64, Qt5.1.1, QtCreator 2.8.1, MinGW).
