You could say the same about SpamAssassin itself. Without a whitelist, it could catch messages based on its rules just as easily as someone maliciously checksumming every message in the list for DCC.
True, although it is the policy of SpamAssassin to try to avoid hitting nonspam. It's not always successful at it, but it does try.
DCC by contrast, has a policy which allows the listing of _any_ bulk mail, and does not have the "spaminess" of messages as a part of the submission criteria. So they aren't even trying to avoid hits of nonspam.
And it would be incorrect to call someone who was reporting this list to DCC malicious. By stated design and policy, DCC should have the posts of this list in it. To call it malicious would mean that someone was somehow or another attempting to undermine the goals of DCC. DCC's stated submission policy is that it lists bulk mail.. any bulk mail. This list *is* bulk mail, so it is correct and not malicious for someone to report sa-talk posts to DCC.
