And who will pay for the software? I think you are expecting too much from a third-party (SourceForge) who through the GOODNESS OF THEIR HEARTS provide such a wonderful service to the world. How many ISPes are still *not* filtering e-mail to their own customers. Of those who are, how many charge extra for it? AV doesn't come cheap you know. And depending on the vendor, SourceForge could find themselves requiring a 100,000+ user license... whoops, make that 100,010,... 100,020... Of course - I never saw any of these so-called viruses - our AV system catches such beasties.
