Ok, I've found that it is a result of the permissions on
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_WINVNC and it's
sub-keys. It appears to only allow system full control and every one else
read-only. I don't know why it does this, but I know that if I change the
permissions to

So, is there anyone out there that can explain why my Duo 2300 and my
PB 1400 just don't have this problem? Is it OS 8.1
When I use -query localhost Xvnc just ends and the log file looks fine; no
reason for quitting.
I think AIX is doing something unusual. I've begun some testing on Solaris and
I don't have the same problems as with AIX.
I'll eventually find out what's up.

Well not a cure, but I find I just have to click on the active window to
refresh it.
I think it is a polling time thingy with the x interface through localloop
back. I will be playing with this more in the new year.

This is part of the standard VNC distribution. To use the java applet, go
to http://yourserver:58XX where XX is your display number.

There is a proper fix in my internal version of the VNC Server, which
fortunately I brought with me to Albuquerque (which is where I spending the
holiday with friends). I might yet be able to make a new release before
Xmas! My fix
