yes, but there already is a way to run an X11 vnc server under MacOSX.

although i'm guessing this is not the functionality most of us MacOSX users
would want.  which i primarily why ihavent gone through the process of
installing the X11 version.

The fact that Mac OS X is Unix underneath doesn't really help from a
VNC server point of view.

It doesn't use X11, so the existing Unix server can't be ported.


I suspect any server will have to wait until there's more information
available on Quartz: that's the lowest level drawing code, so that's
where any hooks for getting screen updates would need to be applied.

Although having said that, the new driver model means it might be
worth looking at a dummy display driver that captures output directly:
these are apparently easier to write than they are under Mac OS 9,
although I expect they're still pretty tricky.
