Our networks proxy is running debcacher. This requires the sources.list to be
rewritten something like this:

I can confirm this problem. There is no updated virtualbox-ose-modules-
generic module available for 2.6.24-18 yet. The latest version seems to
be for 2.6.24-17. Building from source also fails because the
virtualbox-ose-modules-generic source package depends on the header
files for 2.6.24-17.

I probably have , more or less, related issues:
1. Sound volume is to low. I run a dual-boot system in Windows XP and
sound is ok there, so don't play me the "the maximum level is the
maximum you can get out of your sound card"-card, because it's simply
not true.
2. I am unable to change the soun
I have the same problem on my Acer TravelMate 4601LMi laptop, running
Ubuntu 8.04 with kernel 2.6.24.18 (also with some older kernel versions

If I uninstall the ATI Propriety drivers then hibernate works perfectly!!

The terminal works perfectly except for the tiny problem that the window
is not drawn at all. So I can click in it, I can even run a command in
it!! And yes, it must have been floating, as I could drag that
undefinable piece of my screen (that was everything but black

I just updated the Cairo library from hardy-proposed, and the speed-
difference in Evolution is significant, it's much better now. You easily
notice it by for instance changing size of the columns in the message

Correction to my previous post: the system doesn't respond to key and
mouse presses, but the mouse cursor still moves.

Sounds good. I think my point is really that people mix up backports and
SRU, and justifying a request for a package backport by needing security
fixes is wrong, unless it turns out that it is too difficult to backport
those fixes. I don't see anyone requesting any of the new features here.

OK, I understand, only say that i can heard login sound with actual
configuration, but i do not heard logout sound since i installed ubuntu i think.

I can confirm that youtranslation (1.1.9-0ubuntu1) doesn't work on hardy
8.04 (2.6.24-18-generic) after launching. The same after installing
youTranslate-1.10_all.deb. After entering the word to translate and

Agreed, I just pulled down the update to the -18 kernel tonight and the problem
is still there.
