Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager-core
Here is some details: Our networks proxy is running debcacher. This requires the sources.list to be rewritten something like this: deb http://debcache/apt-cacher/archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ gutsy-updates main restricted deb-src http://debcache/apt-cacher/archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ gutsy-updates main restricted When the updater is used it gives an error about the format of the sources.list file before rewriting to contain <something else>, before starting its updates. While this may wind up being the safest way to ensure the new archives are reachable, it does cause a problem for people using proxies/mirrors, as they are unable to cleanly select their preferred update source. ** Affects: update-manager-core (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Custom sources.list cause updater to rewrite sources.list https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/237551 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
