The fix may be in kernel 3.19.0-25.26. I did build and install this
kernel and in subsequent stress testing (about 2 hours worth) was unable
to reproduce the defect. It's rare for me to not encounter the defect in
less than 5 minutes of stress testing - might have once made it to about
20 minutes -
Attempted to move to the 14.04.3 HWE Stack today. The attempt failed:
packages had unmet dependencies. Since there is no definitive reason for
me to install the HWE Stack at this point I will not continue on this
path.
Might pursue building the kernel from that release though.
Any other suggestion
I was hesitant to install the daily build again since I felt I was being
run around in circles. An acquaintance has pointed out that doing it
would server a useful purpose.
So I have completed that task. Once again I was unable to reproduce the
issue with a live-usb containing the daily build. The
Decided there is no point adding any logs from a live-usb session
confusing the situation not knowing that they will reveal anything.
Going to put the state of this defect back to Status New since no
resolution has been found yet and await further guidance on what info I
can provide to help debug i

could run the live-usb stick.

the end of the backup (progress bar at 100%) is doesn't terminate, and

OK, my workaround got me as far as the boot screen for the iso, but as
soon as a choose an action it locks up and starts spewing the above
errors into kern.log again.
So, it isn't the uuid option specifically, but that does trigger it
sooner.

Did the system update, and reloaded and the system came back and warned
that X was running in Low Resolution mode, offered me the opportunity to
re-configure, diagnose, etc, but after 're-configuring' and exiting that
tool, ended up with a black screen with a mouse cursor, and

the SpliX drivers, modifications to the /usr/share/cups/ path needs to
be made to add model/samsung/cms/ and cms files for those printers to

A common problem with many lenovo notebook computers appears to be that
there is a switch for lenovo laptops intel audio drivers that has to be
manually enabled.
In the file '/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base' you enable audio on a Lenovo
laptop by adding a line 'options snd-hda-intel model=lenovo' then e
As of today, still seeing this issue in Hardy. cpp, gcc in the updates
today.
Particularly frustrating in that these are tools used to compile
applications, and while I am sure that the package maintainers rebuilt
their keys and authentication after the recent ssl/ssh fiasco, I'm
really uncomforta

compiled with pango support, which results in rendering garbage (from
what I have seen, a list of rectangles) when attempting to use multibyte
language strings.

I've had this problem in the beta mythbuntu release, not limited to a
hardcoded .lircrc file. If either a .lircrc or ~/.mythtv/lircrc file
exists the file is not over-written, and the process that is supposed to
update the file(s?) hangs with a progress bar that looks like it is at
