I just found out that the game "crack-attack" suffers from the same
problem. I could reproduce this bug on two different computers equipped
with an ATI Radeon 8500 LE and an ATI Radeon 9200 PRO, respectively.
Both use the open source ATI drivers.

Re: Is this still a problem in 7.04?
As I got tired of this bug, I bought a new wireless card (Ralink based)
in the meanwhile and therefore cannot give feedback on this issue
anymore. Sorry.

I can confirm this bug as well. After upgrading from edgy to feisty,
mp3s didn't play anymore and I got a plugin error for both kaffeine and
totem. After removing ~/.xine everything works fine again for me.

I can confirm this bug as well. Today, I updated my machine from Edgy to
Feisty and instead of the text I see also only faint lines in ppracer.
The video card is an ATI Radeon 8500 LE running the open source driver

I have been bitten by the Atheros wireless problems that appeared with

I upgraded my computer to Edgy (where this bug has been fixed), so I
cannot test this anymore in Dapper. Question, has this bug also been
