I have further investigated, whether the updated kernel is at fault for my loss of wireless. Instead of the new 2.6.20-16-generic kernel, I booted with following older kernels (via the grub menu list), that all used to work:
2.6.20-15-generic 2.6.20-11-generic 2.6.20-10-generic However, none of them brought my wireless connection back to life. I remember that there were other incoming updates together with the newer kernel, maybe one of these is at fault? See the attached dpkg.log file for the updated packages prior to the hiatus. ** Attachment added: "Updates packages prior the the loss of wireless" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/9097101/dpkg.log -- Wireless broken by recent update (1.9.2007) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/136860 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
