I am still not able to play movies or sound in impress. However, all
those files play in other movie players such as vlc, Dragon Player and
kplayer. When starting Impress via the command line, I get the following
errors:

Just after launching Impress:

error - missing word count in dictionary file
Hash Manager Error : 4

After trying to load an mp3 file into the OpenOffice media player:

** Message: don't know how to handle application/x-id3
** Message: don't know how to handle application/x-id3

After trying to play an avi file:

** Message: don't know how to handle video/x-msvideo
** Message: don't know how to handle video/x-msvideo

After trying to play an ogg vorbis file:
