It seems like I am hit by the same bug. Am running an updated Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 LTS on this production machine. Hence I cannot install intrepid to see if this bug occurs also there.
After resuming from suspend to ram I get the following errors: [ 50.148213] ata3.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0xf SErr 0x0 action 0x2 frozen [ 50.148261] ata3.00: cmd 60/18:00:bf:52:c2/00:00:01:00:00/40 tag 0 ncq 12288 in [ 50.148263] res 40/00:fe:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/40 Emask 0x4 (timeout) [ 50.148302] ata3.00: status: { DRDY } [ 50.148337] ata3.00: cmd 60/20:08:ff:91:8d/00:00:01:00:00/40 tag 1 ncq 16384 in [ 50.148339] res 40/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/00 Emask 0x4 (timeout) [ 50.148376] ata3.00: status: { DRDY } [ 50.148413] ata3.00: cmd 60/20:10:be:90:f5/00:00:11:00:00/40 tag 2 ncq 16384 in [ 50.148414] res 40/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/00 Emask 0x4 (timeout) [ 50.148446] ata3.00: status: { DRDY } [ 50.148475] ata3.00: cmd 60/08:18:c7:2f:b5/00:00:01:00:00/40 tag 3 ncq 4096 in [ 50.148476] res 40/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/00 Emask 0x4 (timeout) [ 50.148509] ata3.00: status: { DRDY } [ 50.460012] ata3: soft resetting link [ 50.475608] ata3: SATA link up 1.5 Gbps (SStatus 113 SControl 300) [ 50.485907] ata3.00: configured for UDMA/133 [ 50.485925] ata3: EH complete [ 50.485977] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] 312581808 512-byte hardware sectors (160042 MB) [ 50.485995] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] Write Protect is off [ 50.485998] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] Mode Sense: 00 3a 00 00 [ 50.486025] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] Write cache: enabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA [ 80.829931] ata3.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x1f SErr 0x0 action 0x2 frozen [ 80.830011] ata3.00: cmd 60/08:00:4f:40:4a/00:00:00:00:00/40 tag 0 ncq 4096 in [ 80.830014] res 40/00:fe:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/40 Emask 0x4 (timeout) [ 80.830089] ata3.00: status: { DRDY } [ 80.830145] ata3.00: cmd 60/50:08:a6:92:f5/00:00:11:00:00/40 tag 1 ncq 40960 in [ 80.830149] res 40/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/00 Emask 0x4 (timeout) [ 80.830218] ata3.00: status: { DRDY } [ 80.830274] ata3.00: cmd 60/10:10:07:69:46/00:00:00:00:00/40 tag 2 ncq 8192 in [ 80.830277] res 40/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/00 Emask 0x4 (timeout) [ 80.830336] ata3.00: status: { DRDY } [ 80.830404] ata3.00: cmd 61/08:18:ce:c2:cb/00:00:02:00:00/40 tag 3 ncq 4096 out [ 80.830408] res 40/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/00 Emask 0x4 (timeout) [ 80.830489] ata3.00: status: { DRDY } [ 80.830557] ata3.00: cmd 61/08:20:27:ad:00/00:00:00:00:00/40 tag 4 ncq 4096 out [ 80.830560] res 40/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/00 Emask 0x4 (timeout) [ 80.830642] ata3.00: status: { DRDY } [ 81.141894] ata3: soft resetting link [ 81.171814] ata3: SATA link up 1.5 Gbps (SStatus 113 SControl 300) [ 81.182241] ata3.00: configured for UDMA/133 [ 81.182280] ata3: EH complete After a freeze of maybe 20s duration the computer comes back from suspend. The harddrive is only about half a year old and smartctl does not report problems. The only modification I have done is to install a fix to lower the hd loadcycles as per http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=5031046&postcount=1 -- ATA exception on resume from sleep https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/159421 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
