I had 3 servers that are also affected by this. Removing the resolvconf package somewhat worked but the resolv.conf did not get cleaned, so the entries were added each restart. The workaround to get them up more reliably was to put "/etc/init.d/networking restart" into the "/etc/rc.local" file.

In Gutsy I now have a similar problem: - Network Manager writes the VPN's DNS to resolv.conf - For some reason Firefox/Evolution/any network program don't use it. In Feisty VPN and its DNS worked fine for the network-manager OpenVPN plugin, in Gutsy no more. Any ideas/input would be much apprec
