Well, since recent auto-updates and some playing with Firestarter, wireless vpn connections work fine through NM. Disabling the firewall seems essential for the VPN connection to work..... For wired vpn connection I use the OpenVPN config GUI, which also works fine. I could imagine that cleaning out resolv.conf contents is a measure to avoid accidential DNS calls outside the tunneled connection, with resulting breach of security. NB: I am no programmer either, just a VEP.
Best wishes for a happy new year, pirx -- VPN connection should alter /etc/resolv.conf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/37239 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
