I had 3 servers that are also affected by this. Removing the resolvconf package somewhat worked but the resolv.conf did not get cleaned, so the entries were added each restart.
The workaround to get them up more reliably was to put "/etc/init.d/networking restart" into the "/etc/rc.local" file. Not related to this but as they use bonded devices I also had to put "bonding" into "/etc/modules" and add another line of "/sbin/ifup bond0" into "/etc/rc.local", which is a bit weird as this worked out of the box on another server with the same setup by just having the correct entries in the interfaces file. -- Settings dhcp in /etc/network/interfaces does not create /etc/resolv.conf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/558384 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
