Hi,
If you like, please test button support for your scanner.
If button support is working, you can use scanbd to control scanning via

Please don't mix different testings in one log file and at the same

The bug affects MX430, MX510, MX925 and all other ADF scanners in the

Hi Chris,
Attached patch should fix your issue. The patch fixes this file:
backend/pixma_mp150.c.
Please also test the USB connection without WiFi connected.
After your positive feedback I'll update the sources in SANE's git
repository.
Cheers,
Rolf

Hi Art,
For your scanner you need to use SANE's Development (git) Version:
http://www.sane-project.org/lists/sane-backends-cvs.html#S-PIXMA
The ADF is buggy. If you still want to test your device, please install
SANE 1.0.25git as described in README.linux:
http://www.sane-project.org/docs.html.
Hi René,
Your last commit breaks 32-bit Ubuntu Utopic, Precise and Trusty

Hi René,
Many thanks for your fast patch. 32-bit is compiling now.

Hi Erwin,
You can find the Canon PIXMA MG5600 Series scanner here:
http://www.sane-project.org/lists/sane-backends-cvs.html#S-PIXMA .
As you can see, for this scanner you must install SANE development (git)

Hi Michael,
I just added MF6100 Series scanner to the develpoment sources. Please
fetch the recent code from git or wait for the next snapshot until tomorrow.
First, please check the scanner via USB connection and report if it is
working. After everything will be fine, you can start with ethernet
Hi All,
Sorry for my late response. And sorry again, I'm very busy on my new job
and I can only sometimes look into the mailing list. It's more secure to
set me on cc, if you want to address me.
It seems that we have a general problem in the Pixma backend. During the

Hi Gavin,
Many thanks for your report.
Please test one thing, before I update the status: Are 1200 dpi scans ok?
Many thanks for your help.

Hi Todd,
The Canon MAXIFY MB5320 is listed as MAXIFY MB5300 Series here:
http://www.sane-project.org/lists/sane-backends-cvs.html#S-PIXMA.
As you can see, this scanner isn't tested yet and testers are needed.
If you like to test this scanner, you need to install developers version
of Sane from g
Hi Brian,
The MF4890DW is listed here:
http://www.sane-project.org/lists/sane-backends-cvs.html#S-PIXMA .
As you can see, the MF4800 Series has the status complete in the
development version of Sane.
Because you're using Ubuntu, you can use my ppa to get the resent
version of Sane's development
Hi Manfred,
You need to install Sane Development Version from git as described in
README.linux: http://www.sane-project.org/docs.html .
Then your scanner should work

Hi Todd,
Of course, you can use Canon's scangearmp software alternatively to Sane.

Hi Michael,
For your scanner you need to install libsane >= 1.0.24 *or* MP230 series
scangearmp from Canon.
To upgrade libsane, you can add my ppa (in a terminal):
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rolfbensch/sane-git
Hope this helps.

Hi Florian,
Many thanks for your new scanner report.
I just added your patch to the development repository. You'll see that I
set the status to complete. And I renamed the scanner to the name I
found in a MS inf file.
I suppose that the communication error at the end of a scan is an usb
problem.
Hi,
The MF6100 Series scanner is only working with flatbed scans and with
single page scans in adf.
Just now, I'm struggling with multiple pages in adf and duplex adf. A
patch will take a while, because I only have sporadical access to a
MF6140 scanner.
Everytime the scanner reports an error on
Hi Anthony,
Your scanner Canon ImageClass D530 is fully supportet by Sane's
Development (git) Version:
http://sane-project.org/lists/sane-backends-cvs.html#S-PIXMA . You don't
need to patch anything!
Please install Sane from git as described in README.linux:
http://sane-project.org/docs.html .
