I haven't seen a performance comparison in a few years. You can find the
Photon module yield tests up until 2014 online, but even those were limited to
sometimes one model from a manufacturer which did not necessarily represent the

I would have recommended SolarBOS here as well, but as of Jan 1 2016 they
require a minimum 20 piece order. They also have not yet set up a distributor
for smaller orders…seems like an oversight.

Good point Ross. The panel is marked as a 200A with no indication that the bus
has a higher rating, so I've assumed 200A. I considered downsizing the MB, but
it's an discontinued panel, and filled to capacity so not exactly ideal.

Have you considered installing a flashing like the EcoFasten GF-1, lagging
the L-foot to the rafter, and then spanning the L-feet with some AL angle?
We use flashings similarly for supporting conduit on roofs, which works very
well.

Agreed, standard S-5! with L-foot and rail allows for the easiest install
and most flexibility. We also stagger the clamps as much as possible to hit
as many seams as possible. Also, make sure the pans are installed correctly
as they will be the weakest link.
