For the first issue:
Create a system user with the same name as application Y. Change the
ownership of file X and application Y to this system user. Chng the file
permissions of the file X to 600 with chmod. And enable the setuid bit of

I tried to start the PG from /etc/init.d but this is the out put.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~> Pg_ctl start -D /var/lib/pgsql/data/

We are working with NDMFS(an implementation of NDMP protocol) to take backup
(on fedora 7 platform) but are facing a problem.
When giving the "backup" command to take the backup ,it is giving the
error-NDMP_NOT_SUPPORTED_ERR.
Can u help?

Whatever you decide to call it, hardly matters to people who know the
core... (i don't mean quad core here).
I think, they have a habit of keeping silent and then showing up at proper time.
So believing in people's intelligence is a better strategy than
rebranding yourself 10 times...
