Setting Up Selective Sync with Dropbox for Mac

2014-08-28 Thread Nicholas Parsons
I can access Dropbox's selective sync preferences, but can't seem to adjust them. It says that only checked folders will sync to this computer, but I can't seem to uncheck any folders. There's no checkboxes. I've tried pressing VO-Space, clicking with the TrackPad, simulating a click with VO-Shi

Hi Gigi, I've tried doing this before. PDFPen Pro did a pretty good job inserting the form fields, but someone with vision told me that some of the fields to type the answers were in the wrong spots/not aligned properly. They were able to click and drag and stuff to fix it up a bit, but this wo

The feature you want is called Selective Sync, it tells Dropbox which folders you want to download to that Mac. On 28 Aug 2014, at 11:45 pm, Bill Holton wrote: > Hi. > With the new 1tb plan, I would like to add files from my second Mac Mini > drive to my dropbox. I have the Dropbox folder on

Hmm, thanks for letting me know, Phil. I think it's beyond my scripting ability, for now, but I'm wondering whether mouse keys might give me some results, if it's just essentially moving the mouse over to the left a little as you say. Anyway, either that or sighted assistance. Thanks for your h

Thanks, Cheryl. That certainly seems to be the key. I tried that but somehow I must have unchecked a lot of boxes inadvertently (despite being very careful), as after Dropbox applied the changes I lost most of my folders from this Mac. I've now tried to re-check them and am now waiting for those

For anyone that's interested, it seems Cheryl's method works for the root directories of one's Dropbox folder, but not sub-directories. At least that seems to be how it's working for me. Unchecking sub-directories somehow un-checks the main directories, which results in me needing to re-check th

Ray, basically you just use the space bar alone rather than using VO-space. I think that's the sticking point for most people. I reported the issue to Dropbox and they said they've forwarded it to the engineers to look at. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google G

You can get the script from my blog. I suggest using it with the VoiceOver keyboard commander or with Keyboard Maestro. You use the arrange tab of the format inspector to rearrange the order and position of tables. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "

Good thinking. We'd have better spacial awareness on the iPhone/iPad. The iPad would probably be even better as there's more screen real estate. If we did OCR, we could work out the proximity of the form field and the prompt text, presuming Smile got PDFPen to work as nicely as iBooks and Kindle

So long as the column didn't contain data which was referenced by a formula somewhere else in your spreadsheet, that would work fine. But if there is a formula somewhere referring to the data in that column, then that formula will no longer be able to get the data once you copy, paste and delete
