Hi, are their specific settings that need to be set in Preview prior
to reading pdf documents? My file comes up in outline view and I can
tab to the table of Contents, highlight a topic and read the first
page. I then have to tab to the Next Page Button and then Shift-Tab
back to read that page.

instructions. Much better. With SnowLeopard, I find that I can
highlight the group I wish to deal with by hitting the space bar, and
I can change options from within the group by also tapping the space

Peter, if you use the VO Command Left Arrow command, I think it's
twice, you'll land on the rate setting. Then you can use VO command
up and down arrow to raise or lower the rate. I don't know of a way
to adjust the rate for a single command however.

If you are talking about VO parameters, they are not affected by unloading and
reloading as far as I know. The last settings adjusted are remembered. I find
that using SnowLeopard, I can generally hit the spacebar on buttons and most of

Sometimes when reading e-mail with VO-J, I'll hear a letter at the beginning of

I've had experience with Pages and Numbers and overall, the accessibility is

2.8 doesn't matter as much as the RAM in the machine and isn't worth the
additional expense. I actually was advised by the Apple rep I've been
dealing with that the 15 inch display with the 2.53 processor speed
ap process can turn your machine to sludge.
So reaching full capacity on RAM usage or getting near it (starting to
trigger page swaps) will make a much greater impact on performance than the
overall processor speed.
