Hi Mike, Would you recommend that approach for a new system that will have Leopard 10.5? I won't have any data, and I'm guessing that the apps that come with the Mac will be included with the installation of Snow Leopard. I'd rather not do a fresh install on a new system if I don't need to do so. Thanks.

The menu option isn't there, but the way I plan to do it is, boot from the dvd, go to utilities and choose disk utility, erase the drive, then install the new operating system. Of course, before I do this, I will do a complete backup to my external hard drive, and I already have backups of my license keys for programs I have purchased.
