Hi Barry,

Well, the reason I could not launch the VO utility was that I needed to use
the FN key.  Command F5 starts VoiceOver by default which confused me.  Now
I'm trying to figure out how to eliminate the need for using the FN key; I
know that's in the VO manual, so I'll go look for that option.

In regards to vo-f8 not working:  the "Use f1, f2, etc as regular function
keys" isn't checked by default in sl.  Apparently, they have
cmd-f5 set up as a hot key in some way.

I didn't know that Eset had a version of nod32 for the Mac. <smile>
