I'll try to explain in as few words as possible.
I will do a google search, which will work fine.
When I press the link I want, seemingly nothing happens, even though I have a
great wifi connection
to make the webpage read properly i usually stop interacting with the HTML area.
Then to go back a page, i usecommand+{.

The say function is the system speech. I believe it is output that should be
used to get Voice-Over to talk. A Friend and I found this function flakey.
