get it to work. No one responded, which is understandable as it is an expensive
app and not as needed on Mac thanks to dictation and speakable items. Still, I
called Nuance, and they confirmed my fear: Dragon

has no windows, and I can't access the menus to close it - I have to kill it

I think that the version of the Mac App Store is only the express version. The
version I have is Dragon Dictate three, which on Amazon is around $140, but
full price is $199. The one of the Mac App Store is only around $45 or so.

dictate 3.0 for the Mac because of an additional disability that prevents me
from writing normally. Things one should keep in mind, is that Siri is intended
for such task as very short messages, text messages, and very
