With a plain vanilla install of lyx-1.1.1 (with the patches for the
fax and export->custom commands), the Compose key no longer works
reliably on our Sparc-Solaris-2.6 workstations. It does work with
Lyx-1.0.0, using the identical configuration files..

I find myself constantly missing the sentence commands of xemacs and
emacs: M-a goes to the beginning of a sentence, M-d deletes a
sentence, M-e goes to the end of a sentence. They're very convenient.

On the other hand, your WWW server insists on sending the lyx file as
mime-type text/plain, which screws up the handling of lyx files so it
doesn't pop up in LyX. I blamed Netscape for chorus of curses before

cannot see the cursor until I move it. This is with Lyx-1.1.5,

problem, which i
will restore the cursor.

Auctex with emacs would work on a console or serial terminal, although
Auctex is much better with X-windows where you can use xdvi and/or
ghostview previewers, and better still with Xemacs.
I wrote several books with Auctex and emacs before switching to LyX.
