Document->settings->margins.
Then set the margin sizes to whatever you like.
Note that it is generally not a good

Does anyone have information or experience about compiling LyX 1.5 for cygwin?

Hello all
Today i installed the lyx basic installer from lyx ftp site and the problem is
solved there. Furthermore there are some graphical issues which gives lyx a
better look and feel under vista.
Thanks to the developers.

Put 'reqno' (without the quotes) in Document -> Settings -> Document
Class -> Options.

I do not like on the fly spellcheck either (among other nuisances, it
forces me to change the default language everytime I switch from one
language to another). However: 1) when writing short letters it may
be useful; 2) I do not think it is a good idea to tell people what

should I install these fonts to ".fonts" or to "fonts:///" as Ubuntu

There's documentation for amsmath -- I'm not sure if any of it is
specific to the book class. The reqno option is covered in section 2 of
/doc/latex/amsmath/amsldoc.dvi. If you googl

Set the cursor before the image and use the paragraph settings menu to center it. If the image is

You can try to uninstall LyX 1.5.1 completely and then reinstall it using this

Thanks, Uwe, for your help.
I tried uninstalling LyX 1.5.1 and using the alternate installer, but still
had the same problem (though the error message was harder to see). The
error is a python stack trace, which, as far as I can tell from a cursory
look at the python docs should not happen (invol
Hi
I faced similar before and I fixed simply by completely uninstall previous
version of Lyx. By completely I mean remove things from registry. In windows
try start->run then type "cmd" then type "regedit" at prompt then ctrl-F to
find Lyx then delete lyx in that registry (alternatively download
Sorry I remember wrong. Type "regedit" directly at start->run instead of "cmd".
Sorry for making a spam.

I think you can use the nicefrac command in the units package, e.g.
\nicefrac{3}{4} will display ¾. You can activate the preview so that it's
rendered as you type.
