This is suspicious: it looks like it didn't actually find the TeX
installation.

The above problem combined with this makes me wonder: did you install
TeX? If so, you should (provided you have administrative privileges
on your machine) be able to run (from Terminal.app):
sudo texhash
(and then give your password when it asks). After that, you'll
probably need to launch LyX, and choose LyX > Reconfigure, then quit
and relaunch. That should fix the problem ... provided you installed
TeX.
Of course, if you haven't installed TeX, you'll need to.
