I am trying to use xdvi to view a document with colored parts. However,
I cannot see those colored parts (they appear dark black). Is there some
trick to circumvent this problem? Of course, I could produce a ps file
and then view it with ghostview... but it is a slower solution.

ot, table, fig seem in black. But they used to be red.
The problem is that in LyX 1.1.5, the red color has changed from
"Red" to "DarkRed", and this color isn't defined by your X server.
The solution is to open the preferences dialog, and change a little
the "latex" color (and perhaps other colors), and press "save".
