I don't know about "standards" for DB-9 to RJ-45 connectors. I've got a
number of devices that use them, and at least four different wiring
patterns. So, I've got to keep four different cables in the kits, with
lots of labels as to which goes to what.
Kind of like null modem adapters and cabl
Hmmm, we have a VoIP network connecting a number of offices world-wide.
We use MultiTech boxes in their proprietary mode. Faxes are sent over
these quite often. They're slow, but it works. Colorado, Ecuador,
Indiana, UK, Australia, Spain.

You should be able to cable close enough to the water to put up some
wireless stuff, maybe in the trees. For that distance, you should
easily be able to get 11+ mbs, plenty suitable for a couple phone lines
plus Internet access, maybe even some TV.

I would definitely take the bad battery out of the circuit, though.
Otherwise, it may pull your new battery down.
Is the existing battery rechargeable? Many memory batteries are not,
and need periodic replacement. If the existing battery is not
rechargeable, you don't want to replace it with
Yes, your device (fax server) would work fine. I do this all the time
with various equipment that needs to dial out. Enable XDP, punch down
to the first pair of the port and connect to a jack for the analog
device. As you say, make it dial '9' (pause not needed) and away you go.

I think that's your problem. You're running too far on straight
(untwisted) wires. If it is in PVC, can you run another line of CAT3 in
there and get proper twisted pair? I'd bet things would clear right up
then. I had very similar problems one time in a client's house, until I
found he had
Unless they've changed things, the Pana VoIP cards are supposed to be

Just be sure their existing stuff is using H.323 and not MultiTech's
proprietary format. MultiTech has a proprietary format that will only
allow it to talk to other MultiTech units. Some users prefer it because
it is easier to work through firewalls due to fewer ports used.

IIRC, you must use a 6 line display for programming.
There is also a "Walking COS" that allows one extension to temporarily
use the COS of another. It was intended for someone like a supervisor
with all privileges to stop by another employee's restricted phone and
use his COS to make a call.
If the CO is busy, then it is busy. Period. Call waiting will only
alert the owner that another caller is attempting. Call waiting is a
feature from the telco, and your KSU doesn't even see it. The ONLY way
for a caller who attempts a busy line to get to in-house voice mail is
via a hunt gr

I would imagine an installation like this would not change a whole lot.
I don't think I would use punch blocks at all. I'd use gel filled
