How many co lines are they using? You could always add an external door box
on a co input (such as a Viking).

Well,
Yes it can... but you will lose MANY MANY MANY features, and programming it
will be very disappointing.
You can set up some features through the terminal, but every time you want
to check a message or record any greetings you will need to call your other
phone line to get into the system!
No, there is no transmitter near the ksu or the wiring. Since they do have
some Nextels, I will be checking more closely to be sure, but I believe they
are only using some handhelds and I've only seen them on a different floor
in the building.
I'm pretty sure I'll find a jack wired up wrong, mayb

Power trouble update
Well,
I swapped out every piece of hardware for my customer with the power
glitches (except their TVS), and the glitches continue. Now it's time to
look at their wiring. (Wiring was existing when I did the installation...)

Make sure you have DPITS enabled.
Follow Paul's suggestions.
Make sure you connect the TVS to the ksu with a 4 conductor modular cable
(needs the second pair).
The LED on the TVS will be steady (not blinking) when you have a proper
connection.

Hi Jim,
That's what I do at home. It's easier than you think.
Set up one mailbox that has a good number for you (123, 111, whatever).
Program it so that it does have an extension jack assigned to it. It does
not need a phone plugged in but it should think it is an actual extension
number.
Set th
www.channelvision.com I believe has some.
How long ago did you get the holovision? I put one in a few years ago with
the same problem. The told me I can send it back and have it re-finished for
about $35 and that they are using a different guy for their plating. I
wonder if their product has
Same complaint I've had from one customer (7895), also poor range compared
to their 7890 that they used to have in the same location. I sent the 7895
in for repair/whatever over a week ago, haven't got it back yet... jury is
still out.

I never heard of re-assigning the box number... sounds intriguing, need to
look into that.
But what I usually do is set the operator's mailbox to 101 or whatever the
best box is. That way only rare lost calls will ever get dumped in the
mess.manager's box and the operator will get the message ligh
So if I turn on toll restriction for all affected extensions, then set an
offbeat pbx code for say, co5, then co5 will only have toll restriction
applied after that pbx code is entered; basically all calls will be allowed
on that co unless the dialed number is preceeded by the pbx code? fantastic.
Here's another option:
I set one extension to use the vm paging to announce to my kids that it is
ME calling so they better pick up the phone. That works well (unless they
have their headphones on).
Set one mailbox to use intercom paging, and don't have a real extension on
that number. Then rec
