There has been alot of talk about aircraft requirements but there are
also pilot requirements as well as liberties regarding LSA rules.

this. Check the F A Rs for variances on what the speeds , distances and

Hey all,
My A&P school is having an FAA Safety Inspector give a lecture on the new
sport pilot rule tomorrow morning. I thought I'd see if you had any
questions that you'd like me to ask for you.
Cheers,

The EAA is already compiling a list of aircraft that are eliable and can be
found at this link
http://www.sportpilot.org/lsa/homebuilt_list.html
which by the way lists the Loehle 5151with FIXED gear only.
There is also a listing for certified aircraft.

Note that one of the features of Sport Pilot, medical certification, is
not as liberal as many may think. It seems during final certification,
the self medical gray areas were addressed a little more clear.
Sport Pilots can "self certify" medically with a U.S. drivers license.

The Sport Pilot Rule has been approved. The Government signed off on it
yesterday and it is back in the hands of the FAA. I am off to the airport with
my 6 year old son to do some flying. This is his first trip in a small plane.
He loves flying the big commercial jets. Guess who woke me up this

Chuck,
I will admit that I have not downloaded and read all 2704 comments on the
FAA site, but as suggested I have re-read the proposed rule. Your
argument pointing out problems with "Sport Pilot" is well stated, but you
don't mention the time and money it would take to initiate your
alternatives.

Ron, that's just what I've decided to do. My Dr. said it might do away with my
2nd class m edical. I'm just going to let it expire next month and wait. He's
not an examiner just my dr. And he might be wrong anyway--just won't take the
chance.

It has been a long time, but when I was an airline pilot, there were pilots
who lost their medicals. They sometimes had to go to a good aviation
medical examiner and, maybe an appropriate attorney, but most of them got
back after a year or two, even with heart attacks. Go to google.com. enter
