Hi, Philip Cox
Do I use these steps to test "i915.enable_psr2_sel_fetch=0"?
1. sudo gedit /etc/default/grub
2. Then replace
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
by
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i915.enable_psr2_sel_fetch=0"
3. sudo update-grub
Do I need to do anything else.
What does not work? If the touchpad does not work with 6.10 and the
goodix driver then I would change distribution for the moment being
until they fix it since it may take a while :)

Deduping the package helps only marginally. The blobs are symlinked

closer at the resulting initrd it seems initramfs-tools doesn't handle
smymlinked directories but only symlinked files. Hence we end up with

Matthew, you can check this yourself. Just install the kernel and look
for CONFIG_MITIGATION_GDS_FORCE in /boot/config-*. You don't need to
install it either, you can just download the "modules" package that owns
the config file and unpack it with dpkg-deb and grep the config file.
