eg. Red Hat, Mandrake,SUSe etc. , is it possible to switch from one vendor
to another at ease.

what does a decoder do? I mean an ogg decoder for instance converts ogg
to a waveform. what i want to know is how can this waveform be then sent
to the soundcard. my guess is using libao or using sound servers. but

Has anybody installed a USB printer on Linux. If yes please tell
me how to do it.
My PC has a USB card(a PCI addon). It does get detected in the
booting time. Its also visible through the usbview utility.

Are you behind a firewall? Linux doesn't log you out. Firewalls
do. They dont want connections lying hanging around if you are not
going
