Friends,
Linux is in media with a bang !
"The Statesman" has written an excellent article on Linux. It has almost
written-off M$ from India atleast.
It shows clearly how the perception about Linux and its possibilities is
becoming clearer to various segments of the society.

And some bad publicity.
Zee news a few days back while discussing the new PC range from LG said,
that companies likes these are now rolling out alternative Operating Systems
Like Linux that cost only Rs. 3,500 (HUH!) instead of the Microsoft Windows
OS that costs slightly above Rs. 10,000.

shouldn't we move our discusion pertaining to this
topic off the main list. Either join with some
existing list or make a new mailing list . It's just a
suggestion .
As for points mentioned in your letter . There are
couple of issue's .

First of all, I invite you to join the Linux mailing lists and see for yourself
the positive contribution that people are making in order to make the freedom
of choice happen for people - for all the people. Since you are not a member of

I don't think that is bad publicity. Remember Linux is about reedom of choice. The
term "Free" is misunderstood and that doe screate a lot of problem for
Linux to become widely acceptable. I suppose this in this TV program, LG would be
referring to the cost of the distro with support, because the

dear all,
we go around in circles: LAP, free-ed, LinuxMigration.
overlaps, redundancies, diffused efforts.

in the first two projects. dhruv mentioned dse still pend
Hi,
You may run cfdisk to see the hdds and their partitions present on
your system.
Once you have the names of these partitions (like /dev/hda1,
/dev/hdc3 etc) you may mount them. See man mount. Also see man fstab.
