Yo
I do this so often that I instinctively look at the time elapsed every
time I double click on a movie, so I know where to resume when it
restarts.

You received thi
aved file and closed.
Reopened evolution calendars and everything worked again. (Thank God)
The original crash happened when I tried to adjust a recurring event and
apply changes to all events. this is when it froze.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: evolution
I tried to change a date in my calendar so that this event occurred every year.
as it tried to update evolution, the screen went grey and never came back. I
forced quit. Reopening program all other activities worked, but when opening
calendar
after you set the Preferences --> Screen Resolution nice and
high.
I believe that the Mirror Screens option may cause you trouble,
depending on your projector.
The good news: on my projectors, Ubuntu's resolution and handling kicks Vista
out of the park.
Best, Glenn
