he reverse DNS is what needs to be fixed, and that needs to be done by the
hoster. I have no idea who that is though.

lftp seems to do a reasonable job with ftp, so parsing the output of "cls"
on ftp.debian.org seems doable (look for an @ symbol), but somewhat obtuse.

However, since then there has been nothing. The new machine is not logging
any ssh attempts. This means the files are not being rsynced, hence the
