Hi,
I want to install a voxin ViaVoice on a Debian Bookworm i386.
I had some trouble with the voxin 3.4.
Does anyone know the latest voxin to work on an i386 OS?
I contacted Oralux about this, but nobody ever got back with me.

Here's another oddity:
If I do
voxin-say "hello" | aplay
I can hear the voxin voice I installed.
But orca just isn't using it.
I then tried installing speechd-up and that caused errors with voxin, so I
uninstalled that.

Mmmm, but I guess that default rate will be overriden by the speed set
in the kernel, in /sys/a
Hi,
I installed speechd-up. I loaded speakup_foft. But my speech synth stays
slow, even if I change DefaultRate in speechd-dispatcher.
Do you know how to set a default rate faster in this circumstances?

Right, I do this as soon as I install on squeeze-amd64 voxin. I do the
test tomorrow, I'll be able to write some tutorial this week.

Did you install the libglib2.0-dev package.
That is needed to build source code that uses glib 2.0.

Install speech-dispatcher (Debian package). Then install
speech-dispatcher-ibmtts (in voxin/Packages/Debian.squeeze. Then, check
in speechd.conf that the sound is what you use (pulse" or "alsa". Then
run speech-dispatcher as normal user. It should work.

I know nothing about voxin, but a wild guess would be it could try to
identify the debian version through the lsb_release command. So a few
questions:

Hi. Since voxin is basically closed source, only the people who sold it to
you will be able to fix it. There's nothing Debian developers can or should
do about voxin.

Hello everyone,
I installed [1]Voxin 0.19 on my Lenny System. If I choose the IBM voice
output in the orca settings afterwards, I cannot hear anything. The
language does not work.
Can you help me? I wouldn’t know where to look for the error.
Thanks in advance,
Simon
