Our C&C 35-3 came with plastic control levers. They always felt close
to failing so we replaced them with Stainless Steel Edson levers from
Defender. Expensive but well worth it. It is a terrible feeling when
the lever breaks at the worst time. We had the side mounted
shift/throttle control

have loaded on your boat. The sailboat data information will give you
an estimate of the base vessel. A fully loaded (full of fuel, water and

I agree. I sited up the mast on Glenn Gambel's C&C 36 during the Queens
cup race and notice how much the mast was pumping. I tightened the baby
stay as much as I could without using a winch and it quieted down
significantly.
I was not very familiar with a baby stay with our Redwing 3
Acetone.
I tried all the suggestions of Mineral Spirits, Paint Thinner, Goof-Off,
etc. to get labels off wine bottles. None of them worked. Acetone took
it off and left a nice clean surface. I miss the old days of 1-1-1
Trico and Freon.

Same here. I replaced both the anode and heating element on our 1983
Raritan Water Heater last year. Needed a good purchase with a 24" pipe
wrench. I had the enclosure off for painting and was working with the

My first keel boat (Southcoast 23) used Tri Butyl Tin bottom paint. It
was in Lake Texhoma when I bought it and I moved it to Lake Lewisville
(Dallas' primary drinking water reservoir). I changed over to a copper

We have a cushion that was under a leaking port that needs to be
recovered. Anyone know what the fabric was that was used on a 1983 C&C
35-3? It appears to be a blue tweed fabric (maybe Mediterranean Blue
Tweed from Sunbrella). We really don't want to reupholster the whole
interior.

With all of the discussion of keel bolt backing plates, I uncovered two
new stainless steel backing plates and three old mild steel backing
plates from our old Redwing 35. They measure 2.5" X 4" with a 1"
diameter hole. The stainless steel plates are 3/8" thick and the mild
steel plates are 1
For running rigging lengths, I recommend Cajun Ropes. They will list
the lengths of all the lines for your boat. We bought a full rigging
kit from them last year and are very pleased. Only problem we had with
the lines was getting the lubricant off for the clutches to grip better.

I think your problem is accelerated by UV degradation. Delrin isn't all
that good in UV exposure. I would suggest using bearing grade PEEK but
that is a lot of overkill. You may gain some advantage by making a
sunbrella cover for it (or just replace it every 7 years).

remove dust particles from the air. My tractors have oil filled air

I believe that Hull #1 is at All Seasons Marine in South Haven. It has
been on the hard for probably 15 years. It was hit by a vehicle while
in its cradle and had serious structural damage. I haven't talked with
the All Seasons people in a long time since we moved north out of South

primer on stainless screws in aluminum. It acted both as a barrier coat
(faying surface sealer) and a thread locker. It worked well in products
that had a 30 year storage life requirement. Loctite also makes faying

We used Port Townsend Rigging's Lazy Jack kit on our 35-3. They stow at
the mast so no modifications were required to the sail cover. They are
easy to use and you can leave them stowed while raining the main and not
get battens caught. They were easy to install and reasonably priced.

and ground terminal blocks on the bulkhead behind the panel. i ran
separate leads for each of the circuits (signal and ground). For
circuits that had multiple loads, I ran each load to the terminal strip

We replace the Atomic 4 with a Universal M-25XPB on Corsair. Fit was
great function was even greater. The only issue we had was that the
alternator was on the starboard side of the universal (viewed from
engine front) and we had to modify the steps to accommodate. Torresen

We used MIL-P-23337 High Solids Poly Imide Epoxy Primer in the Missile
business. We used it not only as a paint but as a faying surface
sealer and as a locking compound. Great stuff. We would mix up a batch
into small specimen cups and freeze them. Pull them out when we need to
use them.

24/7 for the Lake Michigan summer on two D Cell batteries. Easier than

Replaced the lite with a piece of 1/2" cast acrylic cut to size with the
corners radiused from Select Plastics. They also put the hole for the
solar vent in.

I completely rewired my Redwing 35 in 2006. This link shows what I
changed from (3rd photo) to the updated installation. The original
installation had no AC panel, only a hot tub breaker box. The new
installation has separate AC and DC panels.

I have always thought "The Office" was an excellent name for a boat. My

Lower all torque values by 10% if using any lubricant. Most torque
values are for "clean and dry threads".

system. Sent Guido our old track and Garhauer match drilled the new
track to fit the hole pattern that existed. Easy replacement and works
great.
