Yeah I second shipping a boat. Up here in Ontario there are lots of C&C 25s
on the market. Asking price starting is typically around 5k and I bet they
sell for a lot less. I sold my own Mirage 24 (a C&C design) for $3700 and I
was glad to get it.

If you have a lift that actually can handle to boat safely I don't see any
reason not to use it.

I think we usually refer to this product as "marine plywood," meaning it has

Joel,
There was a C&C 38 for sale on Yachtworld last year that was dry-sailed from a
lift.
Only downside is if your local rating organization has a penalty for
dry-sailing.

The guys in Texas (and others) use Hydro lifts to get their boats almost out of
the water all the time. The J-80 I raced on for a couple of years had this when

Dry sailing is certainly viewed as a plus here. You can remove the bottom
paint and spend quality time wet fairing and sanding. Only caution based on
lifts in this area is to be sure the lift is drops deep enough. Depending on
style etc you'll lose the equivalent of 6" or so of water depth.
Joel, there are plenty of boats your size on lifts. Will we be seeing you on
