I would consider a hook and loop strap to attach the wrench to the tiller. Cable ties and tape require extra time and effort. I actually have mine attached with electrical tape but it has a nice tab to grab for quick unwrapping. Dennis C. ___ This list

This has bugged me since I bought the boat. The wrenches are currently cable-tied to the tiller and the tiller is tied to the hold down straps on the fuel tank. Not a fan really, and I don't like needing tools for such a thing. Thoughts/advice from those more evolved than I? Many thanks,

Robert, If the 3 in 1 oil you used stops working, try spray silicone. It's supposed to be the best lube for Delrin plastic. It's the same material as the ball bearings in roller furlings and WD40 or silicone spray work best there too. If it's a long term problem I would get a new bearing machine

Follow up: I fixed my squeaking, groaning rudder! I didn't even need to remove the collar around the emergency tiller fitting. All I needed to do was to squirt a little 3 in 1 oil between the rudder post and the plastic bushing. I was looking for a more complicated solution, I guess.  Robe
