If you want to ribbon splice, you need a ribbon splicer. If it's 288+ you probably want to buy one. If you're limited on tray space you'll need to buy one. If you just want to loose tube splice it, you can pinch the ribbon on the sides and the glue breaks apart. This gives you the 12 fibers. I

If things go super well, no phone calls, I can do a ring cut + case prep in 45 minutes. That's pretty consistent. Some days the splicer (expensive tool) just wants to be a pain in the ass and it can take hours, but if it's working well maybe 30 minutes. If you know 100% what you have to get done
