run a mksysb to a local filesystem and then backup the file to TSM.

I am looking for some best practices from the list on how to handle
backups that have either failed or were missed during the night. We currently
backup 1000 nodes to four TSM servers. Most mornings we have about 20-30
servers that have had a problem completing their backu
Having a mksysb backup in TSM is pretty useless unless you are in a NIM
environment. The mksysb made directly to tape has 4 sections, the one made
to a file only has one section. In theory you can construct a bootable
tape from that section, but I've never been able to get it to work right.
