We have 2 Tivoli Servers connected to our 3584 library w/ 8 SCSI drives. Each server has its own connection to seperated tape drive loops. We had to do a Advanced configuration to specify drives and I/O slots. Our setup consists of 2 completely seperate TSM servers with their own set of domains. Is your setup a single server? If so, the only way I can think of making sure that your SAN Clients go directly to the fibre drives is to create seperate device class and create their own primary and secondary tapepools for the fibre drives. Then create a management class that sends data to the pools that are associated with the fibre drives. After that you just need to make sure your data is associated with the correct management class in your opt or sys file.
Hopefully that helps, Bud Brown Information Services Systems Administrator Denver Health & Hospitals -----Original Message----- From: Selva, Perpetua [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, February 07, 2002 9:51 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Splitting Library LTO3584 I want them production clients to scsc drives and my san project clients to use fibre drives and allocate production clients no.of slots in the library and the same for the san clients > -----Original Message----- > From: Pétur Eyþórsson [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Thursday, February 07, 2002 11:40 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: Splitting Library LTO3584 > > Are you talking about Library partitioning? > > Kvedja/Regards > Petur Eythorsson > Taeknimadur/Technician > IBM Certified Specialist - AIX > Tivoli Storage Manager Certified Professional > Microsoft Certified System Engineer > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Nyherji Hf Simi TEL: +354-569-7700 > Borgartun 37 105 Iceland > URL: http://www.nyherji.is > > > -----Original Message----- > From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of > Selva, Perpetua > Sent: 7. febrúar 2002 16:24 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: Splitting Library LTO3584 > > > Hi > > Has anyone successfully done a split of the library ? > > I have a LTO3584 , we have 6 scsi drives for our production > environement and we have > 2 fibre drives for another project.
