Thanks Richard. Backup was working well in hotadd as VADP host resides on

I just doubt whether hotadd transport supported for restore vm though we
place VADP host in the same data store .
We tried to enable SAN policy as Online in VADP host but it didn’t help.

Hi Sarav,
The datastore must be available to the host on which the datamover is restoring
the vm.
DSM.OPT should not have a setting that rules out using hotadd.
There may be other options that may cause the hotadd restore not being used.

It doesn't seem to work. During the restore the option to start the VM is

Subject: [ADSM-L] tsm for ve and backup / restore of VMs as domain controlers
We are in the process of revising our entire domain controller
First, I must admit I'm no Microsoft person so I am probably using the
wrong names when it comes to that, sorry in advance. :-)
Most of my customers do something like this.
They backup the DC's with VE and the B/A client.
The use the B/A client to restore (reactivate?) OU's.

We are in the process of revising our entire domain controller infrastructure.
The new DCs will be VMs and running at the 2008 functional level.
We use TSM for Ve to back up our VMs.
How are folks handling backup / restore of domain controlers in general, and
especially those on VMs.
Thank you
Gary,
I was tasked to do this for over 1,000 servers in our DR facility, basically
data is backed up in production and it need to be restored on an ongoing basis
to stand-by servers at our DR site to minimize recovery time.
You can create a restore schedule in the same manner as a backup

To be clear, you are saying you can restore NDMP data without a file server
providing NDMP services as long as the data was stored in a native pool?
-Shawn
IF you setup the web client to perform the restores, you can restore them
to someplace other than the original location, provided that your NDMP
backups are using what is called a 3-way setup of the NDMP environment.
This setup has the NDMP backups being sent to a TSM/Spectrum Protect
We have been doing NDMP backups several years from source is Netapp 7-mode
CIFS shares and purpose of NDMP backups were long term data keeping. We
will be keeping NDMP backups however the Netapp will be decommissioned soon
.What we are looking if it is possible to restore NDMP backups from TSM

PST file can be non-Unicode format (ANSI format) or Unicode format. For
non-Unicode format, the max size is 2GB. As Remco pointed out, this is
Microsoft limitation.
As for the original question, if the data you wan to restore is larger than
2GB, it should be restored into a Unicode format PST
Remco
PST files CAN be and have been larger. In the old days, even though
Microsoft definitely recommended against allowing them to get larger than
2GB (because there were no repair tools) we would regularly see people with
2-4GB PST files. This is definitely an OUTLOOK version dependent problem
