Hi Eric,

OK, I misunderstood when you said "IA" ... when I saw Instant Access, I 
typically think of a "Test mode" restore operation. But, I think you are 
referring to "Production mode" restore (

).

If you want the original VM restored, in production, then choose 
"Production mode" as the restore type and choose the Original Host or 
Cluster as the destination. Production mode will retain the original 
unique identifiers. Clone mode and Test mode creates new identifiers.

Also, based on the original description, it appears you may be selecting 
individual disks to restore an entire VM. You have to select the VM itself 
instead of the disks to do a Full VM "Production mode" restore.
